Our Approach

Introduction

Since its establishment, Kashima Antlers has been a club that "walks hand-in-hand with the community," and just as we pursue victory on the pitch, we have also addressed societal and environmental issues. This is not a new challenge, but rather the very history the club has forged, and it is how we will continue to operate.

Beyond sports, we have undertaken important activities that fulfill our responsibility for the future, just as "victory" on the pitch does. These include utilizing the stadium as a local disaster prevention base, supporting medical and educational facilities, and nurturing the next generation through food education and career experience programs.

For Antlers, sustainability is not a temporary theme.
We believe that our mission is to achieve both consistent victories on the pitch and continuous contributions to the community and society.

In the past, and moving forward.
To preserve an environment where future generations can enjoy football with peace of mind, Antlers will continue to make social contributions, just as we pursue victory on the pitch, together with the community, partner companies, and our fans and supporters.

Fumiaki Koizumi, President and Representative Director

Antlers' approach to sustainability

Kashima Antlers, driven by the desire to "protect an environment where future generations can enjoy soccer with peace of mind," approaches the future of the earth, people, and regions with the same passion as winning on the pitch.

This stance is clearly articulated in the club's sustainability policy, "Forever United in Our Dream ~ With Antlers, For Sustainability ~".

*The title "Sharing the Same Dream Forever" symbolizes our sustainability policy, formulated to ensure that the spirit of "Football Dream ~Let's Share the Same Dream~," which has been a motto since the club's founding, continues uninterrupted.
As times change and the environment, football, and communities undergo significant transformations, it is essential for the club to have a sustainable foundation—protecting the environment, growing with the community, and passing on values to the next generation—to continue pursuing the same dream. This title embodies our determination to connect the Kashima Antlers' Football Dream, ongoing since its founding, to the future and to continue sharing the same dream with all our companions, both inside and outside the club.

Kashima Antlers is committed to achieving a sustainable society with the same passion it pursues "victory."
Building a sustainable society is also a medium- to long-term management policy for the club to enhance its competitiveness and continue to grow together with the region.

Kashima Antlers' sustainability is based on three pillars: "Planet," "Family (local community/partners)," and "Spirit (philosophy/governance)." For the seven key themes closely related to these pillars, specific measures and goals have been set.

Three Pillars of our Sustainability Policy

Planet (Earth)

We minimize the environmental impact of club activities and protect a sustainable competitive environment adapted to climate change.

Family (Community/Partner)

We work with local communities and partner companies to solve local issues and achieve sustainable development together.

Spirit (Philosophy & Governance)

Through education and outreach, we will expand interest and action in sustainability, delivering a positive impact to local communities and society.

Seven Key Themes

Both victories on the pitch and the future of the earth are fields that Antlers will continue to protect.

Sustainability Data

Based on its "Basic Policy on Climate Change," Kashima Antlers is striving to reduce the environmental impact of its club operations and entire supply chain.
We have set targets based on scientific evidence (SBTi standards) to reduce Scope 1 + 2 by 42% (compared to FY2021) and Scope 3 by 25% (compared to FY2023) by 2030, aiming for net-zero by 2050.
To minimize environmental impact through the introduction of renewable energy and sustainable procurement, we are publishing our current GHG emissions here.

*GHG (Greenhouse Gas) emissions refer to the amount of gases released that cause global warming.
Currently, companies are required to reduce emissions not only from their own operations but across their entire supply chain (Scope 1-3).

Scope 1: Direct emissions from the company's own operations (e.g., fuel combustion)
Scope 2: Indirect emissions from the use of purchased electricity or heat
Scope 3: Indirect emissions from other companies, such as raw material procurement, transportation, and product disposal

Efforts toward "carbon neutrality," which aims to reduce these total emissions to net-zero, are required.
