This year, the venue was again the home stadium of J3 Grulla Morioka. The natural grass pitch was in excellent condition, and the players played energetically.
Twelve teams participated in the Tohoku Round, competing in preliminary matches for two spots in the final tournament.
The two teams that advanced through the group stage and won the representative deciding matches were Morioka Ota Higashi (Iwate Prefecture) and Avanzare Sendai (Miyagi Prefecture).
Morioka Ota Higashi, appearing for the first time, is the team where Ogasawara used to play.
These two teams will participate in the 2016 NIKE Antlers CUP U-12 final tournament to be held in July.
The NIKE Antlers CUP U-12 preliminary rounds are also scheduled to be held in other regions, with fierce battles taking place at each venue as teams aim to qualify for the final tournament.
