Intrigued by the name, I went to Oritsu Coast in Kashima City to photograph the Blue Moon rising.
Oritsu Coast is about a 5-minute drive from the clubhouse. Even on weekdays, people gather there to surf, fish, and relax.
This is Oritsu Coast during the day, with a pleasant sea breeze.

To the right is the direction of the clubhouse. You can see a windmill.

When I arrived around 4:30 PM, there were already about 10 cars in the parking lot. This parking lot is very convenient as it's right next to the beach.
As soon as I got out of the car, I was enveloped by the sound of the waves and the smell of the sea. It was around sunset, so the eastern sky was faintly tinged with pink.

The temperature was 15 degrees Celsius. It was a day with strong northerly winds, so it was very cold, and I decided to wait in the car.
At 4:51 PM, the moon was supposed to rise from beyond the sea, but it didn't. As I wondered what to do, suddenly a red moon appeared above the clouds.
People emerged from their parked cars all at once. Everyone seemed to have been waiting for the moonrise.

Apparently, when the moon is at a low altitude, it appears red due to the way light enters the eye.
A reddish "moon road" (path of moonlight) gradually appeared on the sea surface.

The strong north wind made it very cold, so I finished taking photos in about 5 minutes.
Although this full moon was said to be the smallest full moon of the year, it was a very beautiful moon.
