◆YOICHIRO UCHIDA
Born in Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture in 1978. He has gained recognition for his unique worldview, which merges wild orchids with graffiti work. In November 2017, he held "NEVER MIND" at UNION SODA in Fukuoka, and in May 2019, "SOLO SHOW" at CURATOR’S CUBE in Tokyo. Yoichiro Uchida is actively involved in providing artwork for brands such as "the POOL aoyama," "LOOPWHEELER," "TAKAHIROMIYASHITATheSoloist," and "Loro Piana." His creative process is characterized by not setting specific themes but rather translating intuitive thoughts or words that linger in his mind onto the canvas, structuring the composition like a free jazz jam session.
◆Artist's Comment
"I re-examined the momentum and atmosphere of Zico's words in my own way, and this time, I tried to translate that into the momentum of the characters. Although these are words from the world of Antlers and soccer, when I reinterpreted them, they all resonated with me personally, which was a great learning experience. I believe I was able to express my own style in the artwork, but this time, with Antlers as the central theme and the exhibition aimed at supporters, I put a bit of a personal constraint on myself. I considered how to make it appealing and enjoyable for them when creating it."
