Announcement of Official Partner Agreement with Kaneka Corporation

We are pleased to announce that we have signed an official club partnership agreement with Kaneka Corporation (President: Minoru Tanaka) (hereinafter referred to as "Kaneka"). From the 33rd round of the 2021 Meiji Yasuda J1 League match against FC Tokyo on Saturday, October 23, Kaneka's logo will be displayed on the lower left hem of the uniform shorts. Moving forward, we will work together to achieve "a sustainable society created by Kaneka and Kashima Antlers" as our shared vision, and will promote various initiatives from the perspectives of environment, health, and regional coexistence. From the 35th round of the 2021 Meiji Yasuda J1 League match against Urawa Reds on Sunday, November 7, environmentally friendly cutlery (straws, spoons) made from Kaneka biodegradable polymer Green Planet (*) will be used at food and beverage stands at Kashima Soccer Stadium. Additionally, the shopping bags provided when purchasing merchandise at the official club house store and stadium store will be replaced with Green Planet products. This will be the first time a J-League club adopts these products at all food and beverage stands in the stadium and at official club stores. Furthermore, starting next season, ocean cleanup activities will be continuously carried out near Kashimanada on home match days and in conjunction with Zero Waste Day (May 30) and World Oceans Day (June 8), with the participation of Antlers fans, supporters, and stakeholders, to reduce marine plastic waste. We will also utilize Kaneka's diverse solutions, such as supplement products like reduced coenzyme Q10 and various dairy products, as well as solar cells that enrich daily life and housing-related businesses, to promote activities toward the realization of a sustainable society. * [What is Green Planet?] Green Planet is a 100% plant-derived biodegradable polymer developed by Kaneka. It exhibits excellent biodegradability in a wide range of environments, contributing to the reduction of marine pollution. It is biodegraded by many microorganisms found in nature, ultimately becoming carbon dioxide and water. It biodegrades not only in soil but also in seawater, which has been difficult to achieve until now. Its adoption is progressing for applications such as shopping bags and cutlery. https://www.kaneka.co.jp/solutions/phbh/
