Kashima City, JVCKENWOOD Corporation (hereinafter "JVCKENWOOD"), and Kashima Antlers F.C. (hereinafter "Kashima Antlers") are pleased to announce that they will promote the establishment of a wireless communication system throughout Kashima City, with the JVCKENWOOD digital simple radio repeater installed at Kashima Soccer Stadium as the hub.
This initiative involves JVCKENWOOD, a club partner of Kashima Antlers, installing a digital simple radio repeater at Kashima Soccer Stadium to improve the communication environment for Kashima Antlers' stadium match operations, and also utilizing wide-area wireless communication centered on the stadium for community communication and as a means of communication in emergencies.
The digital simple radio repeater at Kashima Soccer Stadium commenced operation on December 8, 2024, for the 2024 Meiji Yasuda J1 League Matchday 38 against FC Machida Zelvia. Furthermore, to establish a wireless communication network covering the entire Kashima City, Kashima Antlers, in cooperation with JVCKENWOOD and with technical support, donated 25 digital simple radios to the city today, January 31 (Friday). Moving forward, the goal is to establish a wireless communication network covering the entire city by utilizing JVCKENWOOD radios within Kashima City, with the Kashima Stadium radio repeater, which enables wide-area wireless communication, serving as the hub.
In the future, the wireless communication network will be expanded to other home towns and neighboring municipalities to improve the communication environment throughout Kashima and the surrounding areas. This will contribute to community revitalization through use in local events, secure communication means in emergencies, and form the foundation for building a safe and secure community.
