Restaurant: CAFE SERENDIPITY

Cafe where you can enjoy the "little happiness" of popular kuromitsu kinako chiffon cake
This cafe was opened in 2015 by husband and wife Yoji and Kazuko Onuma, and their daughter Kozue Nagano. The cafe's name, "SERENDIPITY," is a word Kozue learned in junior high school, meaning "little happiness found by chance." Kazuko, a registered dietitian, and Kozue strive for "well-balanced, gentle-tasting meals and desserts." The "Kuromitsu Kinako Chiffon Cake" has been a popular menu item since the cafe opened. Its rich, thick kuromitsu (brown sugar syrup), fresh pure cream, and carefully crafted fluffy texture are the secrets to its popularity. "Today's Scone," which is made with plenty of butter and fresh cream and features a different flavor each day, is also a popular dessert available for takeout. The lunch set menu is extensive, with the weekly "Mochimochi Fresh Pasta Set" (1,100 yen), "Plate Lunch Set" (1,000 yen), and "Pitti's Lunch Set" (1,180 yen) being particularly well-received.
