Goals from Fukuoka and Dobashi! First win of the season!
Matchday 4 of the Prince Takamado Trophy JFA U-18 Football Premier League 2024 EAST saw Kashima Youth face Yokohama FC Youth at Kashima Stadium.
Due to the suspension of 4 Okawa from the previous match, there were changes to the defensive line from the starting lineup. 11 Cho, making his first appearance of the season, started at right back, with 26 Tamaki and 3 Dobashi at center back, and 7 Kaito Sato on the left side.

Kashima Junior Youth and Norte Junior were among those who came to support, and cheers encouraging the youth team echoed through the stadium even before the match began.

Kashima Youth took control early in the match, recovering second balls and building rhythmic attacks with short passes.
A cross from 32 Hirashima found 40 Yoshida's head, but it went wide. Then, 32 Hirashima volleyed a cross from 14 Nakagawa, but it sailed to the left of the goal.
Despite missing two clear chances, the team's play hinted at goals from the start of the match.

In the 8th minute, with the momentum still in their favor, 14 Nakagawa broke through on the left side after a series of well-connected passes. His cross found 40 Yoshida for a post-play in front of the goal. 19 Fukuoka struck the dropped ball directly with his left foot, shaking the net and giving Kashima Youth the lead.

After that, there were periods of pressure, but the team maintained pressure from the front, implementing "good defense leading to good offense." However, the score remained unchanged, and the first half ended with a one-goal lead.
As the second half began, a balanced game continued with neither side giving way. Kashima Youth brought on 20 Shimada.

The team collectively upped their game, especially with the substituted player, aiming for an additional goal.
Then, in the 64th minute, from a left corner kick, 3 Dobashi headed in a ball delivered by 14 Nakagawa, extending the lead to two goals.

Just when it seemed the match would end that way, they conceded a goal in the closing minutes. After that, they endured a period of being on the defensive but showed stubborn defense without losing intensity until the end.

They held on to their one-goal lead, securing their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory in the best possible atmosphere at their home game.
