Under the direction of Coach Kumagai, the youth team, including coaches Shinohara and Kato and 18 players, departed Narita for China.
From Qingdao Airport, they traveled by bus for another two hours to arrive in Weifang.
The youth team will participate in the Weifang Cup 2016, which starts on the 24th, at the facilities of the local team, FC Shandong.
At the airport, they were welcomed with a photo session and interviews with local media for the coach and players.
After checking into the hotel located within the FC Shandong facilities, they conducted a light training session after 5 p.m. to assess their physical condition. Plenty of water was provided at both the hotel and the practice grounds.
The liaisons for the participating teams are university student volunteers.
Tomorrow, a pre-match training session, press conference, managers' meeting, and welcome party are scheduled.
