Many matches in this tournament, including the one against Padova, were held on grounds adjacent to a church. Padova is a local club, and being a Sunday, many people came to watch. Antlers conceded a goal just before halftime, but they equalized with the final play after extra time in the second half, leading to a 1-1 draw and a penalty shootout. Antlers missed three consecutive penalties but showed resilience to catch up, though they ultimately lost 3-4. After the match, the parents of Padova players gave a big round of applause.
Coach Morishima's comment: "Although we lost in penalties, the players showed a full effort until the end, which was good for the last match of the tournament. At the start, the players were a bit tired from playing consecutive matches, so their movement wasn't great. We conceded a goal just before halftime and were at a disadvantage, but we played without giving up until the end of the second half and managed to score a goal with the final play after 2 minutes of added time. Even in the penalty shootout, after three players missed, we showed persistence to momentarily gain an advantage. I feel that the players have grown day by day, and I want them to continue working hard in training to grow even more after returning to Japan."
After the match, the players moved to the final match venue and watched the game with many spectators. Then, they attended the closing ceremony and received the 10th-place trophy and participation medals.
There was a pleasant surprise at the awards ceremony. While each team was honored once, Antlers received the Fair Play Award, announced just before the winning team. The players went forward again to receive their award. After giving their greetings, at the request of the organizers, they performed the Brazilian gymnastics routine they had become famous for during the tournament before matches. The players received loud cheers from the spectators.
After the awards ceremony, the team returned to the hotel for lunch, then went shopping at a nearby shopping center. In the evening, they relaxed in the heated pool.
