In the 48th Japan Club Youth Football Championship (U-18) Matchday 3, the team faced Sanfrecce Hiroshima F.C Youth at Ishinhotels Stadium.
To advance to the knockout stage, a draw or a win was required. The team entered Matchday 3 of the group stage after a demanding schedule with only one day of rest.
The starting lineup included Kishino, Tsuchihashi, Okawa, Sato, Tamaki, Nakagawa, Fukuoka, Onuki, Hirashima, Yoshida, and Takagi Eito.
Kikuta, Oshima, Motosuna, Yonekawa, Ogasawara, Masaki, Tokuda, Shimada, and Takagi Teruto were on the bench.
With a draw or better being the condition, the team started the first half cautiously. They tried to gradually seize control from defense but were caught off guard and conceded an early goal.
They tried to create chances through build-up play, but continued to make mistakes after winning the ball, failing to gain momentum. The first half ended 0-1 without them creating any significant chances.
In the second half, Tokuda (number 13) was brought in to try and make an impact, but they couldn't get a shot on target against the opponent's solid defense.
The match ended without any further change to the score.
The team finished second in Group F of the 48th Japan Club Youth Football Championship (U-18) group stage and did not advance to the knockout stage.
Although they finished Matchday 1 and 2 of the group stage with no goals conceded, this one conceded goal proved to be costly.
The team will now prepare as one for the Premier League, which resumes after the summer break.
