After 30 years as a clinician, I established Protea Japan Co., Ltd. in 1991. I was inspired by Dr. Fernandes of South Africa, who developed a "photoaging prevention" skincare system unlike anything seen in the Japanese market before, and transitioned into entrepreneurship. I aimed to expand into medical institutions and skincare salons, prioritizing staff training as the most crucial element for sales channel expansion.
In 2007, convinced that "beautiful skin comes from a healthy body" and believing in the necessity of active aging, which encompasses skin anti-aging, I added the "acceleration training machine" Power Plate® as a new business venture.

Dr. Desmond Fernandes　Plastic Surgeon / Developer of Environ Skincare System

Born in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1942. Graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand Medical School (South Africa). Studied abroad at the University of Edinburgh (UK). Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Initially a cardiac surgeon, he participated in the world's first heart transplant surgery performed by Dr. Christiaan Barnard at the University of Cape Town Hospital.
Later, he transitioned to plastic surgery. He currently operates a cosmetic plastic surgery clinic in Cape Town and presents his research findings at numerous international medical conferences. In 2006, he opened the Renaissance Body Science Institute, a comprehensive facility for total active aging. Currently, his surgical waiting list is full for the next six months. Author of "Desmond Fernandes' Skincare Handbook."
