Today, the first rainy day since the camp started, we held a training match against V-Varen Nagasaki, consisting of two 45-minute halves and two 30-minute halves.
The first half kicked off at 10:30 AM. Struggling on the slightly slippery pitch due to the rain, we conceded a goal in the 12th minute. However, despite the goal, our players continued to press from the front.
Then, in the 38th minute, Nagaki received the ball just outside the penalty area and sent a through pass to Shirasaki in front. Although the pass was unfortunately cleared by an opposing player, Doi slotted the rebound directly into the bottom left corner of the goal, equalizing the score. After that, we continued to attack, pressing towards the opponent's goal. Just before the end of the first half, Shirasaki was brought down in the penalty area, earning a penalty kick. Shirasaki calmly converted the penalty himself, giving us the lead, and we ended the first half with a 2-1 score.
In the second half, we made a few changes to the lineup and proceeded with the match while confirming our coordination. However, we were unable to score, and the match ended in a 0-0 draw.
In the third half that followed, we made significant changes to the lineup. In the third half, which featured many young players and new recruits, Sekigawa headed in a rebound from a corner kick with a high jump, and it ended 1-0. The fourth half ended in a 0-0 draw with neither side yielding. We won the match 3-1 in total across the four halves.
Although we didn't achieve a clean sheet, the last day of camp brought many more positives than challenges.
With this, the Miyazaki training camp has concluded. We were able to complete 11 fulfilling days of training. The team will return to Kashima and resume preparations for the opening match.
