2018 Shizuoka Training Camp - Day 4

It's day 4 of the training camp, and we're exactly halfway through. Today was chilly, a stark contrast to yesterday's heat, and it even started raining during practice.

Practice once again began with physical coach Satouchi. The players were linked together with special rubber equipment to add resistance to their training.

Next up was the possession training, which has been a daily routine at this camp. As if signaled by the rain that began to fall during practice, the contest for the ball intensified.

After that practice, they moved on to a drill called "Alemon." This is an offensive and defensive training exercise where players are divided into three groups. One group waits, and when the defending side of the two competing groups crosses the half-court line, they become the attacking side and play against the waiting group. This is repeated. The intensity remained just as high in this drill.

Nakamura repeatedly appeared to distribute the ball, sometimes taking on defenders with dribbles. Kento even scored a goal with a powerful long-range shot after a dribble. Ogasawara sometimes made tackles that were just on the edge of being fouls. Uchida threw his body at crucial scoring opportunities, blocking shots with his feet to prevent goals.

After practice, Uchida, Ogasawara, and Coach Oiwa were seen talking in the center circle. The afternoon practice was cancelled.

"We're going to solidify our strengths during this camp. We also have two practice matches. The official matches start with the Emperor's Cup, and the second half of the season will be packed, but we'll all work hard, so please support us."
