As the official training was limited to one hour, the players warmed up pitchside until 4 PM. During the 15 minutes open to the media, they engaged in a passing drill.

Prior to the official training session, official press conferences were held at the large cricket stadium next to Sydney Football Stadium, with Sydney FC's starting at 3:15 PM and Antlers' at 3:30 PM.
Sydney FC was represented by coach Graham Arnold, who previously played in Hiroshima and managed Sendai, and player Joshua Brillante. Antlers was represented by coach Go Oiwa and player Takeshi Kanamori.

Manager Go Oiwa
"I anticipate a high-intensity game from Sydney, as it's their home ground. I've watched their games, including those in the A-League, and they have powerful players upfront, including foreign players. We need to be wary of that and enter the game well."

Takeshi Kanamori
"More than personal achievement, I'm here for the team to win this game. I hope we can win with the strength of the entire team. When we played Brisbane, I had an image of them being big and strong. This is a different team, but I hope we can play in a way that exploits their weaknesses."
