Kashima Antlers crowdfunding project launched
Kashima City (Mayor: Koichi Nishikori) and Kashima Antlers F.C. Co., Ltd. (Head office: Kashima City, Ibaraki Prefecture; President: Fumiyuki Koizumi; hereinafter "Kashima Antlers") are pleased to announce the launch of the "Kashima Antlers Crowdfunding Project" starting today.
Donations will be collected with the cooperation of Kashima City, the home town of Kashima Antlers, and the donations will be eligible for Kashima City's "Furusato Nozei" (hometown tax donation). The project has also received support from Itako City, Kamisu City, Namegata City, and Hokota City, which are part of the home town. The club plans to offer gifts (returns) to supporters based on the amount of their donation.
Applications can be made through a special website, and the acceptance period will be from Tuesday, June 16 to Friday, July 31. We hope that as many people as possible will support this project, and we will continue to fight for the title with all Antlers family members even after the official matches resume on Saturday, July 4.
■Comment from Koichi Nishikori, Mayor of Kashima City
"The resumption of the J.League, which had been suspended, has been decided. However, it has been decided that matches will be held without spectators or with restricted attendance for some time. Unlike before, we cannot dye the stadium bright red with everyone's power, and our Antlers are also not in perfect condition due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a representative of the home town, Kashima City has decided to implement a Furusato Nozei-style crowdfunding to support Antlers. We hope to energize the team with your donations. We appreciate your support and cooperation."
■Comment from Fumiyuki Koizumi, President of Kashima Antlers
"This time, Kashima Antlers, with the cooperation of Kashima City, has decided to launch a crowdfunding project utilizing Furusato Nozei. During the suspension of official matches due to the prevention of COVID-19 infection, the club has launched numerous projects under the slogan '#Let's do what we can now, together'. Although the schedule for the resumption of matches has been decided, the club's situation remains very severe due to the impact of the suspension and spectator restrictions. We hope that as many people as possible will endorse and support this project, and we look forward to seeing you all at the stadium again in our daily lives where football is possible."
