■Comment from Anzai:
"I have decided to transfer to Portimonense. First of all, I apologize for leaving the team in the middle of the season. I am 24 years old this year, and I felt that this was my last chance to challenge myself overseas, considering my age, so I made this decision. Last year, I joined Kashima Antlers, and I was able to grow tremendously not only as a player but also as a person. However, my growth was only possible thanks to the support of my teammates, coach, staff, and all the fans. I am truly grateful! And, to think that I was playing in J2 just a year and a half ago, and then experienced winning the ACL, the Club World Cup, and playing for the Japan National Team, it's all thanks to the club, Kashima Antlers.
Since I am going overseas, I will definitely perform well and become a side back who represents Japan, and I want to show you all my growth! Thank you for the past year and a half!!"
