At the AFC Annual Awards 2018 held in Oman on November 28, Go Oiwa was awarded the Coach of the Year (Men's) award.
Coach Oiwa's comment
"I am extremely honored to receive the AFC Coach of the Year award. However, this award is not solely due to my efforts. It is a reward for winning the AFC Champions League, made possible by the incredible fighting spirit of our players, the unwavering support of our staff, and the contributions of everyone involved with the club. Above all, without the support of our fans who came to every match leading up to the final, and even to the away match in Iran, we would not have won the ACL or received this award. My only job is to do everything I can to help the team win, so I will strive to win every remaining match this season, living up to the prestige of this award."
