With the signing of this agreement, we will work together to achieve a sustainable future by switching all electricity for club-related facilities, including Kashima Soccer Stadium, to Octopus Energy's renewable energy by the summer of 2025.

Recently, with the cooperation of the club, we are planning to develop a solar power generation site in Ibaraki Prefecture, which has excellent sunlight conditions. Through initiatives such as utilizing the green energy generated at this site for facilities like Kashima Stadium and the clubhouse, we aim to promote the widespread use of renewable energy, advance a local production for local consumption model, and raise environmental awareness in the Kōkō area.

Furthermore, in the future, we envision expanding the concept of a local production for local consumption model for renewable energy across the entire community, in cooperation with a wide range of club stakeholders including supporters, partner companies, and local government.

Kashima Antlers and Octopus Energy, as responsible clubs and companies for the community and society, will continue to promote environmental consideration, expand the possibilities of renewable energy, and create a better future together with the local community.

Kashima Antlers' Past Environmental Initiatives

Kashima Soccer Stadium, owned by Ibaraki Prefecture which is committed to promoting the introduction of renewable energy and carbon neutrality for the realization of a decarbonized society, and managed by Kashima Antlers F.C. Co., Ltd. as the designated administrator, has already started environmentally friendly stadium operations, such as introducing carbon-neutral LP gas for turf maintenance and providing stadium gourmet.

Octopus Energy's Promotion of Local Energy Production and Consumption

Octopus Energy promotes local energy production and consumption by utilizing domestic resources. While reducing reliance on foreign resources is a critical issue for achieving a sustainable society in the energy sector and reducing household burdens, we are strengthening the use of green energy generated domestically. Recently, we have also realized a local production-for-local consumption type renewable energy supply model in Gunma Prefecture, contributing to the stable supply of local energy.
