Thailand Trip (12/14)

On the third day of the second-year youth team's trip to Thailand, they had breakfast at 7 AM and went for a walk at 9 AM.

They walked around the hotel for about 30 minutes. It seemed that the ferry boat, similar to a "barge," that crossed the river was used for transportation to and from the temple on the opposite bank. Directly across from the hotel was a large temple, and its exterior was very ornate and beautiful.

Upon returning to the hotel, they used the conference room on the 5th floor for about 30 minutes of stretching, core training, and rubber band exercises under trainer Inaba.

Also, in the meeting, coach Ichikawa reviewed yesterday's performance and talked about today's match.

They had lunch from 11 AM and left the hotel at 12:30 PM to head to today's match venue.

Today's opponent was the Bangkok Glass U-17 team. Their top team won the second division this year and will be in the first division next season. This academy facility was built with assistance from Yanmar Diesel, due to their business partnership with C-Osaka. Its name was also "YAMAOKA HANASAKA ACADEMY."

It has two natural grass fields and one artificial turf field, and the clubhouse is a well-equipped facility with a cafeteria, strength training room, doctor/trainer room, laundry area, and more. The two-story clubhouse has accommodation facilities on the second floor for youth players, who apparently balance soccer and studies while living together.

At 2:30 PM, the temperature was 32 degrees Celsius and the humidity was 41%. The sun was stronger than yesterday, making for tougher environmental conditions.

In the first half, they allowed the opponent to possess the ball somewhat, and progressed the game by varying the pace. Despite creating chances, they couldn't score. However, in the 45th minute, just before the end of the first half, a quick counter-attack led to a single pass breaking through the defensive line, and Ishizu scored a beautiful shot to open the scoring.

However, in the 64th minute, they conceded a goal from a counter-attack down the right side, making the score 2-1.

In the 83rd minute, Yanagimachi scored another brilliant volley from Iizuka's cross from the right, extending their lead. Finally, in the 90th minute, Okita scored another goal with a left-footed shot from a corner kick delivered by Funasaki, ending the match.

While it was good to finish with a win and score goals, many challenges still remained.

After the match, they left the grounds at 5:30 PM and arrived back at the hotel around 6:30 PM.

They had dinner from 7 PM, went shopping at a nearby shopping center, and lights out was at 10 PM.

Tomorrow's match will be the last one of the Thailand tour. The opponent is the Chonburi second team, an age group of 16 to 19 years old.
