Italy Expedition (May 30)

We played our first qualifying league match of the Manlio Selis Sardinia Cup international tournament.

Our opponent was Latte Dolce SS, a club team from a town club in mainland Italy, and the match kicked off at 6:00 PM.

Since we arrived late yesterday, we had a late breakfast. As the match was also kicking off at 6:00 PM, we prioritized the players' rest.

Breakfast was buffet style. While there weren't as many options as a Japanese hotel, there was a good selection of breads. We ate sandwiches with ham and other fillings.

The hotel is a resort surrounded by nature, with the sea and mountains nearby. The weather today was clear and sunny from the morning.

We spent a long time stretching in the morning to prepare for the afternoon match.

After lunch, we held a meeting for the match and then departed from the hotel.

The match venue has artificial turf. Many people came to support the local team that was also playing at the venue.

We won with a score of 8-0 (6-0 in the first half, 2-0 in the second half).

From the start of the first half, we aggressively went for the ball from the front, leading to the opening goal. We continued to attack without letting up, aiming for the goal, and were able to finish with a large lead.

In the second half, we changed some players and adjusted positions, but lacked decisive finishing and struggled to score. However, we also largely prevented dangerous situations and finished the match without conceding any goals.

We were also able to score from a direct free kick and a header from a corner kick.

Although it was an important first match, they ran so well that they showed no signs of concern about jet lag or other factors.

After the match, a bus picked us up at the venue, so we haven't felt any stress from travel so far.

We returned to the hotel, held a brief meeting, and concluded the day's activities.
