Mr. Jorginho built the facilities in front of the house where he grew up. With support from Nike and the government, local teachers provide free language and art lessons to children. They also lend out sports equipment, making it a place that gives hope and smiles to impoverished children. The monument was built by Mr. Jorginho in memory of a friend who died in a traffic accident when they were moving a wooden goal to replace it with an iron one, before Mr. Jorginho became a soccer player.
When Mr. Jorginho was 13, he looked out his window at a dilapidated field and decided to build a soccer field there.
