Preliminary League Match 1, 9:00 AM Kick-off

Norte 0(0-4.0-4)8 Santos

Members: Owada (45th minute Shizukuishi), Kamoshida, Inaba, Shibata, Takahashi (Gaku), Oyama (49th minute Hosaka), Sekiguchi (52nd minute Otsuki) Takeuchi (67th minute Sakamoto), Noguchi, Ogawa, Kubota (52nd minute Mitsushima)

Although the teams were evenly matched for the first 10 minutes of the first half, we gradually started to panic due to the speed of the opponent's pressure, leading to more dangerous situations where back passes and horizontal passes to teammates were intercepted. Amidst this, a horizontal pass in the midfield on the left side was intercepted, and a pass was made behind the defender, leading to a goal. From there, simple passing errors became prominent, and the opponent gained control. We struggled to keep up with the opponent's quick transition from defense to offense, resulting in repeated goals against us, and we ended the first half 0-4.
At halftime, we discussed resetting our mindset and playing as if it were 0-0, but just as we were about to create a chance, we lost possession and conceded a goal on the counter. The match unfolded similarly to the first half, with more goals conceded, and we ultimately lost the first match 0-8.

Preliminary League Match 1, 12:30 PM Kick-off

Tsukuba 0(0-0.-1)1 Avaí

Members: Nakajima (Ao), Ishikawa (Taku), Goto, Fujiwara, Nakajima (Yui) (70th minute Aragaki), Ishikawa (Ko), Maruyama (70th minute Kaneko), Wagatsuma (45th minute Suzuki), Hanawa, Kokubu, Sekiguchi

From the first half, we played a match that was equal to or better than our opponent, especially with good defense, and we managed to connect passes to teammates by purposefully winning the ball. Good balls were distributed from midfield to the front, and the ball was well controlled in the front, creating more chances than the opponent, but the quality of the final passes and crosses was poor, preventing us from scoring. In the second half, we continued to play well as in the first half, but our stamina gradually decreased. In the 65th minute, a slight defensive positioning adjustment became loose, and the opponent's forward capitalized on a momentary lapse, shooting at a ball that went behind the full-back. The goalkeeper initially saved it, but the follow-up shot led to a painful goal. We had created a very good flow, so I believe we can achieve a good result tomorrow.

Preliminary League Match 1, 2:15 PM Kick-off

Kashima 4(2-1.2-0)1 Boavista
Scorers: 5th minute Kikuchi, 28th minute Kurimata, 42nd minute Fujii (PK), 55th minute Furuya

Members: Yamada, Nakajima (Ryo) (46th minute Kohari), Tamaki, Namaizawa, Nemoto (HT Takahashi E), Fujii, Ishii, Kikuchi (44th minute Someno), Saito (42nd minute Furuya), Sugiyama (51st minute Hiramatsu), Kurimata

In the early stages, our stiffness was noticeable, and we faced a crisis, but we withstood it with tenacious defense in front of the goal. In the 5th minute, Kikuchi scored on a rebound from Kurimata's shot, taking a 1-0 lead. From this point, we were able to play more calmly, and in the 28th minute, Kurimata reacted to Sugiyama's lob pass to make it 2-0, but we conceded a goal a minute later, ending the first half 2-1.
In the second half, as our opponent's movement gradually slowed down, we earned a penalty kick due to a handball by an opposing player. Fujii converted it, making the score 3-1. We maintained our momentum, and finally, Furuya scored the fourth goal from a header by Someno, who won a contest for a long pass from the opponent. Kashima was the only Japanese team to win, earning 3 points.
