Asahi Shimbun & Kashima Antlers Family Soccer School in Naka City

On Sunday, January 24th, we held the "Asahi Shimbun & Kashima Antlers Family Soccer School" at the Naka General Park Multipurpose Field in Naka City, Ibaraki Prefecture. This time, under the guidance of three Kashima Antlers school coaches and guest coach Akira Narahashi, approximately 130 pairs of students from elementary school grades 1-3 and their parents trained together.

Although about 5 centimeters of snow had accumulated on the ground due to snowfall the night before, many people attended with few cancellations.

First, everyone played tag as a warm-up, then split into three groups to do enjoyable parent-child training.

During the games, there was great excitement as children actively challenged adults, fathers showed off brilliant plays, and parents and children displayed excellent teamwork.

Finally, we held a rock-paper-scissors tournament and the Antlers presented soccer balls and drawstring bags as prizes.

Although the field was covered in snow at the start, by the end, it had all melted as the participants energetically ran around. It was a school that began with poor ground conditions, but we saw many smiling faces playing.

Coach Hashino:
"We were concerned about the snow, but thank you to everyone who participated. It snowed for a while during the school, but your enthusiasm melted the snow on the field, allowing us to play games in excellent condition. Please continue to play soccer with your children, never forgetting the origin of 'truly enjoying soccer' as you did today."
