From Friday, August 7th to Sunday, August 9th, fifth and sixth-grade school students participated in the Mainichi Comnet Hasaki Junior Cup.
[Comment from Coach Kosonoe, in charge of the 5th grade]
The 5th-grade team played 8 matches over three days, finishing with 4 wins, 4 losses, and a 3rd-place result. The players ran tirelessly in the intense heat, and as the number of matches increased, their teamwork improved, leading to excellent coordinated goals on the final day. It was a fulfilling tournament that showed the growth of the school students. Thank you to all the school students who participated. We will continue to organize tournament participations like this training camp, so we hope you will join us again.
[Comment from Coach Kawamata, in charge of the 6th grade]
Although it was an impromptu team made up of students from various schools, the players showed no signs of nervousness and quickly bonded through their own communication. In the matches, they expressed their own play, actively played "for the team," and fought by covering for each other. The players were disappointed with their 4th-place finish, but I believe they gained valuable experience by competing seriously and living together with teammates from different schools. Through this tournament, I think they truly felt the importance of "cooperating with and cherishing their teammates." I hope they will use this experience to learn many more things in the future.
