At this time of year, just before the swimming season, we conducted a beach cleanup aimed at creating beautiful beaches. Through the work of collecting and sorting non-recyclable waste, we raised awareness about the large amount of plastic waste drifting in the ocean and confronted the issue of marine debris.

A record high of 63 employees from Business Club member companies participated in the beach cleanup as a philosophy-based sponsorship activity, and we were able to deepen our camaraderie through the cleanup activities.


Tsunoore Beach in Kashima City had a steep slope and soft sand, making it a very labor-intensive cleanup site.
Discarded plastics get entangled with driftwood, break into tiny pieces, and become so small that it is difficult to collect all of them. It was a good opportunity to witness the microplastic problem firsthand.
Parents who participated with their families also commented that it was "a very important experience and activity for their children's education."

During the cleanup, there was also a moment where we worked hard with surfers who happened to be there to dig out buried fishing nets and ropes.

Despite the rainy weather, participants diligently carried out the cleanup activities. After the cleanup, the "Hamanasu no Sei" (spirit of the beach rose) seemed to be smiling. We will continue our efforts to protect and preserve the local beaches.
