Youth Club 2nd match, 2-0 victory.
In the 2nd match of the 48th Japan Club Youth Soccer Championship (U-18) Tournament, we played against Kyoto Sanga F.C. U-18 at Yamaguchi Kirara Expo Memorial Park Soccer/Rugby Field.
The consecutive matches continued, with no room for error.
In the early stages, the opponent attacked with power plays and long throws, but we defended concentratedly. In the 7th minute, #40 Yoshida scored the opening goal from a corner kick. This was his 4th goal in the second match of this tournament.
After that, the opponent intensified their attack, but Kashima Youth also attacked through the flanks with the cooperation of the two forwards, #56 Takagi and #40 Yoshida. Dangerous situations were thwarted by #4 Okawa's blocks and #21 Kishino's excellent saves, and the first half ended 1-0.
The second half remained evenly matched, and Kashima Youth brought in the energetic #20 Shimada. #20 Shimada's runs behind the defense led to more shots, gradually shifting the momentum in their favor.
Just when it seemed the match would end as it was, #10 Ogasawara, who was substituted in late in the match, scored an additional goal with a superb individual effort, securing a 2-0 victory.
The final group stage match will be a direct confrontation for advancement against Sanfrecce Hiroshima F.C Youth on Thursday, July 25th at 7:00 PM.
