History of Establishment

In February 1991, one of the clubs selected to participate in the J.League was based on the Sumitomo Metal Soccer Club, with the nearby areas centered around Kashima Town (now Kashima City), Kamisu Town (now Kamisu City), and Hasaki Town (now Kamisu City) as its home town. In October 1991, Kashima Antlers FC Co., Ltd. was established with investment from 5 local municipalities and 43 companies (at the time). In April 1992, the professional football club "Kashima Antlers" began its activities.

Club Name / Club Colors

Origin of the club name

Antlers' "Antler" refers to a deer's antlers. The name is inspired by the deer of Kashima Shrine and evokes Ibaraki Prefecture's character for "Iba" (茨). It carries the meaning of being widely beloved and, in times of battle, fearlessly confronting challenges.

Club colors: Antlers Red

The fiery passion for football is represented here. It also alludes to the color of the rose, Ibaraki Prefecture's official flower.
