Nomidokoro Hinata
I visited the restaurant in early December, after the ginkgo leaves had passed their peak. On such a cold day, what's the one thing you want to eat at an izakaya? Oden, right?? This time, I ordered all the regular oden items: daikon radish, egg, deep-fried tofu, konjac, and chikuwa. Each item is 100 yen (excluding tax). There are also daily specials, but you'll have to go and see what they are!

The ingredients, soaked in broth, are steaming. No need to say more! It's a supreme moment that can only be enjoyed in winter. Serve it with mustard. Takeout is also available!
The daikon radish is especially popular. Hinata's daikon is huge! It's become a specialty among customers. However, the owner said, "Today's is on the smaller side." Is it really even bigger than this...!? I placed the green onion from negima next to it. Can you tell the difference?

Besides oden, there are other specialty dishes! Next up is the most popular item, the finest lean horse meat sashimi, 1,000 yen (excluding tax). It has a different flavor from the horse meat specialty store "Sakuraya" that I introduced last time, and you can taste the rich umami of the horse meat. Ginger and garlic add a nice accent!
Visiting popular restaurants ~ A must-see for athletes & women! Sakuraya, a nutritious and healthy horse meat specialty store ~

It's also highly recommended by the owner, who apparently used to eat this horse meat sashimi as a customer herself! Now she runs the restaurant. How wonderful!
When you eat meat, you crave rice. This time, I'm specially having a takeout menu item in the restaurant. There are five types of donburi, and I tried the least familiar one, the Yakitori Don for 500 yen (tax included).

I thought they would just remove the green onions from the skewer, put them on rice, and pour sauce over it, but when I tasted it, I was surprised. This is not just a donburi with yakitori on top! When I immediately asked the owner, she said it was a masterpiece perfected after much trial and error. The chicken is cooked in a different way from regular yakitori to make it tender, and the sauce is an original one specifically for yakitori don.

In addition to donburi, there are many other menu items, some of which are shown here. There is a wide variety, from standard dishes to those that can only be enjoyed here, and I'm particularly interested in the "Oreo Tempura"!
※All takeout menu items include tax.

Although it's a Japanese-style izakaya, the drink selection is extensive. There are 13 types of chuhai/sours, 34 types of cocktails, and many more! It might be a good idea to check their website before you go. Even though it's an izakaya, I (the writer) can't drink alcohol. But even such people are welcome at Hinata!
Hinata is an izakaya in Kyuchu, Kashima City. It is located near the Kyuchu Hachome intersection, two doors down from Sakuraya.

Parking is available behind the restaurant. Please take the road indicated by the arrow.

Extensive payment options! It seems that more and more people are choosing restaurants based on whether they support their preferred payment method. This lineup is very convenient.

Seating includes counter seats and horigotatsu (sunken kotatsu) tables. How about some karaoke too? There's also a campaign where you can sing for free, so check it out on Instagram!
