Visiting Scenic Spots: Sunset over Lake Kasumigaura

This is a sunset over Lake Kasumigaura in Aso, Namegata City.

Here, you can enjoy such beautiful sunsets by the water all year round. The photos were taken in the spring of this year. On the far right, you can see the beautiful purple peak of Mount Tsukuba, which stands 887m tall.

During the colder months, you can even see Mount Fuji directly ahead.

It's amazing to be able to see Mount Fuji from so far away, beyond Chiba, Tokyo, and Kanagawa prefectures.

On days when Mount Fuji is visible, it's usually bone-chillingly cold, on clear winter mornings and evenings.

A cycling course has been developed along Lake Kasumigaura. This cycling course, called the "Tsukuba Kasumigaura Ring-Ring Road," was designated a "National Cycle Route" last year as a leading and world-renowned route in Japan. For this reason, there is a constant stream of visiting cyclists.

Beyond cycling, there are many ways to enjoy the area, from fishing to yachting, each to their own.

Perhaps it's also a great way to enjoy the area by simply coming here when you want to just relax and unwind.

Tennozaki Park in Aso, Namegata City, which was also a movie location, is a recommended scenic spot.
