At this time of year, just before the swimming season, we conducted a beach cleanup aiming to create beautiful beaches. Through the work of collecting and sorting non-biodegradable trash, we engaged with the issue of the many plastic waste items drifting in the ocean and the broader problem of marine debris.

A parent and child who participated told us that they learned in a local elementary school class about a sea turtle that died after ingesting plastic waste, and thought, "We have to do something!" which inspired them to participate in the beach cleanup.
Despite the intense heat, we conducted the cleanup activity while staying hydrated. Similar to the "Kamisu City 2022 Beach Cleanup" held on Saturday, June 25, we were surprised by the large amount of fine plastic and vinyl waste. Nevertheless, the children joined the adults, working up a sweat and cooperating in the beach cleanup.
The non-biodegradable trash scattered on the beach was completely removed.
Through this beach cleanup, conducted with the desire to pass on Tsunoore Beach – characterized by its white sands and beautiful waves, watched over by the "Hamansu no Sei" (spirit of the beach rose) – as a precious asset of Kashima City to future generations, we once again realized the importance of environmental protection.
Furthermore, all participants received an original ANTLERS BUSINESS CLUB towel.
