Bouldering Seminar: World Champion Comes to Kashima Stadium

On October 28th, 1000 days before the Tokyo Olympics, a bouldering clinic was held at Kashima Wellness Plaza, featuring Tomoa Narasaki, the 2016 Bouldering World Champion. His younger brother, Meichi Narasaki, who won the World Youth Championship, also participated. Approximately 40 participants, divided into two sessions – elementary and junior high school students in the first, and adults in the second – experienced the allure of bouldering.

When Tomoa and Meichi Narasaki appeared for the first session, there were loud cheers from the children and their guardians. Tomoa greeted them, saying, "It's a short time, but let's enjoy it together!"

During the demonstration, Tomoa effortlessly grasped the highest hold.

When the tall Meichi extended his long limbs, he easily grabbed the holds, eliciting cries of surprise.

He advised, "Before you start climbing, visualize which holds you're going to grab. The position of your feet is important too."

The bouldering wall at Wellness offers a variety of routes with different difficulty levels. Everyone can experience the exhilaration of reaching the top.

We asked Tomoa to try a route that seemed "a bit impossible!" Since the routes are recorded on the wall, experience his amazing moves.
