FIFA Club World Cup Japan 2016 Participating Club Press Conference

The Antlers, who won the 2016 annual championship and qualified for the Club World Cup, arrived in Yokohama, the host city for the opening match, on December 5th. A press conference was held in conjunction with their arrival, attended by manager Ishii, and players Nagaki and Shoji. They spoke about their aspirations for the tournament.

Manager Ishii: "I am truly honored to be participating in the Club World Cup as the representative of Japanese clubs. We will fully embrace this qualification that we won in the championship, and during the tournament, we want to show how much we, as representatives of Japan, can compete on the world stage. We want to put on a strong performance for all the supporters and fans who have cheered for Antlers until now."

Player Nagaki: "Having become J-League champions, we trained hard again today for the Club World Cup. We want to put on a performance worthy of the Japanese champions and aim for victory."

Player Shoji: "Since we earned this qualification ourselves, we want to play with confidence. This is a tournament I used to watch on TV, so I'm happy to be able to participate. As a team, we will do our best to show the world what we can do."
