On March 11, the 5th anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake, a joint disaster preparedness drill was held at the Tsukuba Academy Center with staff from the Tsukuba area and Norte area. With the cooperation of the Tsukuba City South Fire Department, initial fire suppression, 119 calls, evacuation drills, and water extinguishing were carried out. As this was the first evacuation drill at the Tsukuba Academy Center, a fire truck and ambulance were dispatched. After the evacuation drill, school staff conducted water extinguishing training.
