We would like to announce that two top team players of our club tested positive for COVID-19 in PCR tests on Friday, August 26.
Players A and B were diagnosed positive in a regular antigen qualitative test designated by the J.League conducted on the morning of August 26, and subsequently tested positive in a PCR test. Player A reported fever and sore throat on the morning of the same day, while Player B showed no symptoms of illness on the day of the test. Both players are currently recuperating under appropriate guidance and measures. Furthermore, based on the J.League's guidelines for COVID-19 countermeasures, no close contacts were identified.
All players and team staff, excluding the aforementioned players, tested negative in the regular J.League-designated tests conducted on the morning of August 26, and no symptoms of illness have been observed at present. The Meiji Yasuda J1 League Matchday 27 match against Kawasaki Frontale on Saturday, August 27, will proceed as scheduled with players and staff who test negative in the on-site screening test stipulated by J.League guidelines.
The club will further strengthen the COVID-19 countermeasures it has implemented to date and will ensure that all players, staff, and related personnel are re-informed and thoroughly adhere to infection prevention measures.
