【Work Summary】
"Captain Tsubasa" is a soccer manga drawn by Yoichi Takahashi. It began serialization in Shueisha's "Weekly Shonen Jump" in 1981 and has had a huge impact, especially on young soccer players in Japan.
Since then, a series depicting the growth of the main character, Tsubasa Ozora, and his friends has been released as a sequel. "Captain Tsubasa: Rising Sun" was serialized in Shueisha's "Grand Jump" until 2019, and from 2020, it began serialization in "Captain Tsubasa Magazine," a special issue of "Grand Jump."
The total cumulative circulation of tankobon and bunko books in Japan has exceeded 70 million copies. It is a highly popular work that has been translated into 20 languages and published in many countries overseas, not just in Japan.
