The "Antlers Food Education Caravan" is aimed at elementary school students in the five hometowns. Its purpose is to give back to the community the knowledge of diet and exercise cultivated as a professional soccer club, and to promote the healthy development and growth of children. It started in 2014 as a project of the Antlers Hometown Council with the support of Showa Sangyo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Kazuhiko Niitsuma), which has been an official partner since then.
To date, the program has made numerous rounds to elementary schools in the five hometowns, conducting a total of 79 lectures over six years, with 7,000 participating children. The pamphlets used in the lectures feature top team players every year, raising awareness about breakfast and the five major nutrients, introducing ingredients from the five hometowns, showcasing meal menus from the Antlers youth dormitory, and explaining proper eating posture and how to hold chopsticks. In 2020, Ryotaro Araki, Yuzuki Someya, Yuta Matsumura, and Daiki Yamada are featured in the pamphlet.
This year's program will be held for nine elementary schools in Hokota City starting in November, and will be conducted online to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection.
