Born October 23, 1990. She aspired to be a singer from a young age and began composing songs on the piano in elementary school. She started playing the guitar upon entering university and began serious musical activities, including street performances.
In October 2012, she made her CD debut with "Hajimete no Kimochi" from Warner Music Japan.
From October 2013 to March 2014, she appeared on Fuji TV's "Terrace House," garnering attention from various quarters.
In May 2014, she also began working as an exclusive model for "CanCam." Her song "Anata ni Koi wo Shitemimashita," released in February 2015, became the theme song for Fuji TV's Monday 9 PM drama, and was a huge hit, surpassing 500,000 downloads. In August 2019, she made her acting debut in the film "Dance with Me," directed by Shinobu Yaguchi. In September of the same year, her first book "chay's BEAUTY BOOK" was released, and in November, her third full album "Lavender" (produced by Satoshi Takebe, featuring 14 songs), her first in approximately 2 years and 5 months, was released.
In February 2020, she held her first nationwide tour in approximately 2 years, "chay LAVENDER TOUR 2020," which concluded with great success at a sold-out show at EX THEATER in Roppongi, Tokyo, on February 16.
