Kashima Antlers Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Kashima Antlers") is pleased to announce that in cooperation with club partner TG Octopus Energy Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Octopus Energy"), it will begin supplying green energy to five club-related facilities, including Mercari Stadium, starting on Tuesday, July 1.
This initiative involves Octopus Energy off-taking (procuring) renewable energy generated at solar power plants developed and owned by Joyo Green Energy Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of official partner The Joyo Bank, Ltd. (hereinafter "Joyo Bank"), in Ibaraki Prefecture (including power plants in Kashima City), and supplying it to a total of five facilities: Mercari Stadium, the clubhouse, the academy house, the Tsukuba Academy Center, and Yuhi Dormitory (the top team players' dormitory). By utilizing locally generated energy to support the activities of the local professional soccer club, this initiative aims to promote a "local production for local consumption energy model."
Octopus Energy has a track record in the spread of green electricity and technological innovation, primarily in Europe, and signed a club partner agreement with Kashima Antlers in February 2025. Following the signing of the agreement, the two parties have cooperated to promote sustainable energy use, and this initiative realizes Kashima Antlers' philosophy of being a "club responsible to the community" from an environmental perspective. Meanwhile, Joyo Bank not only provides a financial network rooted in the community but also works on the development of solar power plants and the supply of renewable energy resources, primarily in Ibaraki Prefecture, and will support the foundation of this initiative.
In conjunction with the introduction of green energy at club-related facilities, a special electricity plan "Shikatako Octopus" that supporters of Kashima Antlers can use in their homes will also be offered starting July 1. Please check the special page below for details and applications.

Kashima Antlers will continue to collaborate with Octopus Energy and the Joyo Bank Group to create a green future starting from Ibaraki, together with the community and fans. Furthermore, in promoting sustainability, which is accelerating across the entire J.League, we will aim to continue and develop this initiative as a community-led model case.
Comment from Fumitoshi Koizumi, Representative Director and President of Kashima Antlers Co., Ltd.
The impacts of climate change are becoming increasingly severe in the sports field every year. Creating an environment where matches and tournaments can be held safely is now one of the fundamental pillars of sports management. In this context, this initiative is not merely about energy supply but a challenge to build a "local production for local consumption" energy model in cooperation with the community. We aim to leverage the unique characteristics of Ibaraki, a region highly compatible with green energy, and combine it with the power of technology to create a sustainable system that connects with the community and supporters.
