Comment from Hayato Nakama

"I will be transferring to Kashiwa Reysol. To everyone involved with Kashima Antlers, I extend my heartfelt gratitude for welcoming me and fighting alongside me through thick and thin. Thank you very much. The only reason I joined Antlers was to win titles. For three years at Antlers, I dedicated everything, constantly striving and thinking only of titles. Honestly, difficult and painful days were overwhelmingly more frequent, but I believed that what mattered most was how I continued to struggle through such times, and I worked desperately. I think I used to approach soccer with the desire to grow as a player. However, at Antlers, my desire to make the team win overshadowed my own desire for growth. I was determined to fulfill any role for the sake of victory. I believe that because the entire Antlers family united, persevered in challenging for victory, and I personally experienced the wonderful history of Antlers, I was able to play with pride for this club. Everyone calls me "soul," but it was the Antlers family who instilled that soul in me. I sincerely apologize to the supporters for the difficult seasons we experienced due to my lack of ability and for not being able to be of more help. From next season, as a Kashiwa Reysol player, I will play with all my heart, infused with the soul I gained at Antlers. I may not have been a memorable player, but I hope that one day I will be remembered as "there was a player like that," and I will become a small yet great person, worthy of the name of a player who belonged to Antlers. Thank you very much for your immense support over these three years. Your wonderful chants were always an encouragement. I pray that Kashima Antlers continues to be a wonderful and great club."
