Comment from Shoma Doi

"I have decided to leave Kashima Antlers and change my environment. Antlers has been my life. I spent about 20 years there, including my junior youth days, and learned everything necessary for football. I chased the backs of great先輩s, gave my all in daily practices, and always acted for the team's victory, no matter the situation. Strict on the pitch and warm like family off the pitch, Antlers made me the Shoma Doi I am today. Despite this, I felt I still had things to accomplish on the pitch as a player, and decided that I needed to challenge myself in a second footballing life. I will use what I've cultivated at this club as fuel and fight for victory in everything. The taste of all the titles won at Antlers, and the bitter taste of defeat, and the football life I've walked with the Antlers family have made me a better player and person. I will never forget the "Shoma Doi" chants that always encouraged me at Kashima Stadium. My Shoma Doi chant is a lifelong treasure. My football life at Antlers will end for now, but my second football life starts here. I would appreciate your continued support. There are still many feelings and thanks I want to convey, but it would be too long here, so I'll stop at this point. And to everyone involved with Kashima Antlers, and to the great legend Zico, I depart on my next journey with gratitude. Thank you very much. I look forward to your continued support."
