Academy Report

It was a cloudy day today, but there was no wind and we had a calm morning. The ranking tournament finally starts today. If we lose, it's all over. After breakfast, we moved to the ground.

Even after arriving at the ground, only a few people were there preparing. It's a do-or-die sudden death match, so anything can happen, but somehow the warm-up also felt light-hearted. Our opponent for the first round was FC Aqua Hotel (Spain). The match kicked off at 9:00.

In the 3rd minute, we conceded a goal from the left wing. We tried to calmly proceed with the game, but we conceded another goal from a mistake in front of our own goal, making it a tough 0-2 situation.

We kept possession and created shooting opportunities, but couldn't score a goal, and conceded another goal in the 20th minute. We conceded from a corner kick rebound, giving up a 3-goal lead in the first half alone.

As instructed by the coach at halftime, we attacked from the flanks.

In the 7th minute of the second half, Tokuda scored from a corner, making it 1-3. In the 10th minute, Miyazawa scored from a cross from the right wing, and in the 11th minute, Kawamura scored from another cross from the right wing, equalizing the score.

After that, we repeatedly shot, but couldn't hit the target or score a goal, leading to a penalty shootout.

In the penalty shootout, everyone scored in the first round, and finally, the opponent's shot went wide, securing us the victory. After the match, we watched a bit of the Juventus vs. Deportivo match, returned to the hotel, had lunch, and then headed for the second round match. The match was held at the same venue as the second day, kicking off at 16:00. Our opponent was CD La Floresta (Spain).

We took the lead early and controlled the game. In the 5th minute of the first half, Hatanaka dribbled through the center and scored a beautiful opening goal. We were also able to force the opponent to use back passes frequently with our forward pressure on their build-up play.

Furthermore, just before the end of the first half, Kiuchi dribbled down the right wing and crossed the ball, and Hatanaka scored again, ending the first half with a 2-0 lead. In the second half, the opposing team came out with a formation that kept more players upfront. Antlers played with defensive balance and were rarely broken down.

We won the ball in midfield and created many chances. Then, from a counterattack, Kawamura broke through the opposing defense line and calmly scored a goal in a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper, extending the lead to three goals. After that, we skillfully used up time to end the match. With this, we advanced to the top 8 of the ranking tournament. Tomorrow, the quarterfinals and semifinals will be held.

After the match, we returned to the hotel and cooled down in the pool.
