South Korea Expedition (August 12)

This is the third day of our expedition, and the tournament begins today. The weather is partly cloudy, and it feels a little cooler than yesterday. In the morning, we had breakfast after a walk. We're getting used to Korean food, and our condition is good. After breakfast, everyone watched other matches in our group.

After watching the matches, we returned to the hotel for lunch and then held a pre-match meeting. As the tournament began, we all shared the tactics and fighting spirit we had cultivated for this competition and then headed to the match venue.

Preliminary League Match 1 vs Kyungnam U15 (Korea) First Half 1-0, Second Half 1-1 Goalscorers: 19th minute Kaiyo Yanagimachi, 45th minute Kai Ishizu
〔Members〕
 GK: Taiyo Suzuki
FP: Shotaro Taniguchi (45th minute Takeru Miyauchi), Sora Okita, Tatsuya Kiuchi, Yuta Yamaguchi (48th minute Ryoma Minowa), Hikaru Shimano, Ryunosuke Ito (57th minute Fushin Owa, 71st minute Tomoya Miyauchi), Kaiyo Yanagimachi, Kai Ishizu, Rintaro Umezu, Hikaru Iizuka

At the start of the match, the players seemed confused by the referee's decisions, and the game felt different from playing in Japan. The cautious play continued for a while, but in the 19th minute, Yanagimachi rushed into the goal area from Umezu's throw-in and scored the opening goal with a volley. After that, we took control of the game, creating two or three decisive chances but failing to score again, and the first half ended.

In the second half, we continued to dominate the game from the start, creating many chances by swaying the opponent left and right and with individual breakthroughs. In the 45th minute, Taniguchi broke through on the right side and delivered an accurate cross, which Ishizu headed into the net, giving us a 2-0 lead. However, a few minutes later, we conceded a goal and were pushed back for a period, but we managed to win the first match.

Comment from Coach Nakamura
"We've been working towards the Jeju International Youth Tournament as a goal for the past two months, so it's good that we managed to secure three points in the first match. I expected some stiffness until we scored the first goal, but when we were 2-0 up, we couldn't score the third goal during our dominant period, and the momentum shifted to the opponent. We need to rectify the fact that we couldn't all withstand that pressure. Conceding a goal due to a basic marking error meant we were pushed back until the end, and it wouldn't have been surprising if they had equalized or even taken the lead. Tomorrow's match kicks off at 10 AM, and it will be hot, but we want to adapt well to everything we've challenged ourselves with in Japan, including the heat and the refereeing, and approach the second match against Bucheon FC 1995."

After the match, we moved to the hotel, had dinner, confirmed tomorrow's schedule, and prepared for the match.

Our second match will be against Bucheon FC 1995 at 10:00 AM.
