Expedition to Italy (April 21st)

The U-13 Academy selection, currently on an expedition in Italy, will participate in the ORNEO INTERNAZIONALE CALCIO GIOVANILE tournament starting today.

On the morning of the match, we took a walk and did some exercises in a nearby park-like area. Breakfast was buffet style, with bread, ham, cheese, and other items.

In the morning, to play a practice match, we rented a ground near the stadium where the opening ceremony would be held and played against Toronto, a team from Canada.
It was a narrow pitch, about 45m wide and 95m long, and we played two 20-minute halves of 11-on-11.
First half 0-0, Second half 2-0, Total 2-0
Goal scorers: Nakayama, Ito

First half lineup: GK Numata, DF Ishido, Iwama, Moriyama, Kobayashi, MF Fukuhara, Miyauchi, Komura, Yamaguchi, FW Higuchi, Gocho.
In the first half, on the narrow pitch, the team's awareness of connecting passes at their feet was high, but we often lost the ball and conceded counter-attacks, leading to many dangerous situations.
Second half lineup: GK Takahashi, DF Ishido, Iwama, Moriyama, Yamaguchi, MF Fukuhara, Ito, Koide, Fuchigami, FW Kado, Nakayama.
In the 3rd minute of the second half, Nakayama scored the opening goal from a header pass by Koide, allowing us to proceed with the game more calmly. As we were able to hold the ball in the front line and distribute it, our chances increased.
However, there were also moments when pressing for the ball and getting bypassed led to dangerous situations for us. Then, in the 11th minute of the second half, Ito scored from a rebound off Yamaguchi's shot, extending our lead. Even so, the game did not end at the scheduled time, continuing to be extended, and it wouldn't end until a call was made to stop it. In the end, it was played for 28 minutes.

After the match, we returned to the hotel, had lunch, and then headed to the venue for the first day of the tournament. The venue was near where we had played the practice match.

The first day of the preliminary league, with three teams, was against Abano, a local Italian team from the host city. The pitch condition was considerably better than the practice ground in the morning.

First half 1-0, Second half 1-0, Total 2-0
Goal scorers: Koide, Ito

Starting lineup: GK Numata, DF Ishido, Moriyama, Iwama, Yamaguchi, MF Fukuhara, Ito, Koide, Gocho, FW Higuchi, Nakayama

In the match, in the 7th minute of the first half, Koide scored the opening goal with a looping shot from outside the penalty area. However, our performance was poor; our decision-making in build-up was slow, leading to many passes to feet and preventing us from developing plays using the flanks. This resulted in carelessly losing possession and facing dangerous situations.

Second half lineup: GK Takahashi, DF Miyauchi, Fukuhara, Moriyama, Kobayashi, MF Fuchigami, Komura, Ito, Yamaguchi, FW Kado, Nakayama

In the second half, with Fuchigami and Komura as the central defensive midfielders, we were able to calmly develop play on both the flanks and in the center, stabilizing the game. However, losing the ball in the double pivot position led to counterattacks. As the second half progressed, we focused on avoiding risks and making simple passes. In this flow, Ito scored from a loose ball during a scramble from a cross, extending our lead and securing a complete victory.
Despite the win, there are still many challenges.

After the match, we moved to the main stadium to participate in the opening ceremony.
