March 13th: This morning, the Kashima Youth team went for a jog on the beach near their hotel and broke a light sweat on the sand. During the shuttle run, a dog out for a walk even joined in and ran with them.
After practice, they went to Espanyol's facilities to watch an U19 league match that started at 12:15 PM. Espanyol U19, the league leaders, secured a 1-0 victory against San Andreu by defending a goal scored in the first half.
After returning to the hotel and having lunch, they went back to the beach at 5:30 PM for their second training session of the day. After basic training, they played a game of beach soccer using the goals on the beach.
With local children watching, the beach soccer inter-squad match, played in a best-of-three format, ended in a thrilling 4-4 draw, even going to a penalty shootout.
It was the last night at the hotel. Dinner was a course meal, not a buffet. The final dinner menu included ravioli, chicken, salad, and dessert.
