Teams from outside the prefecture, such as Vegalta Sendai and Sagan Tosu, as well as teams belonging to the Kanto League 1st and 2nd divisions, participated in this 1st-division. Unfortunately, Albirex Niigata was unable to participate due to bad weather, but it served as a prelude to the league matches starting in early spring.
In the preliminary rounds, Kawasaki Frontale won Group A and Kashima Antlers won Group B, both advancing to the final.
The final was a close match, ending 2-2 after regular time. The game went into extra time, where Kawasaki Frontale scored two goals to claim the championship.
The 2nd division will be held from February 20th to 21st. Don't miss it!
