From August 7th to 9th, 3rd and 4th graders from the school went on a 3-day, 2-night trip to Gunma Prefecture. This trip involved 29 students from 3rd and 4th grades who attend the school and wished to participate, crossing regional boundaries to visit Kawaba Village in Gunma Prefecture.
Purpose of this trip:
1. Participation in the Numata Rotary Club U-10 Kawaba Village CUP 2015
2. Experience nature in Gunma Prefecture, venturing out from Ibaraki Prefecture
Kawaba Village was a little cooler than Ibaraki even in this summer season, and we were blessed with good weather for three days. The venue was surrounded by nature, and we were able to see "Tanbo Art" (rice paddy art) in a nearby rice field.

Since the children usually play in different areas, many of them were meeting for the first time and were a bit nervous initially, but once they started kicking the ball together, they quickly learned each other's names and became friends.
Right after the match on the first day, everyone quickly changed into swimsuits and headed for river play!
After plenty of river play, we returned to the hotel and had dinner together.
Breakfast for both days was buffet style, and everyone tried to think about nutrition and eat a variety of foods.

On the second day, matches were held from the morning, and even the bench members watched intently.

For lunch, we ate local summer vegetable curry and whole cucumbers.
On the second day, between matches, we went corn picking, hosted by this tournament.

After that, since the weather was good, we went to play in the river for two consecutive days. On the second day, we went to a slightly downstream part of the river compared to the first day.

Then came the final day, and everyone completed the three-day tournament. The results were 4th place for one team and 10th place for the other team in a tournament with 16 participating teams; although we didn't win, all participants gained a sense of the challenges they need to address for the future. On the way back, as part of a social studies lesson, they used their allowance to buy souvenirs for their families and acquaintances.
